Winning students record their Apprenticeship commercial at Pirate FM

After judging more than 50 commercials, a group of students from Penrice Academy has been announced as the winner of the 2015 Pirate FM Cornwall Apprenticeships Campaign competition.

The students’ prize was a VIP visit to the Pirate FM studios in Redruth to make a professional recording of their commercial, which included selecting a backing track and adding relevant sound effects.

The recording was made on 12th February and the finished advert will start to be aired on Pirate FM from 23rd February in the run up to National Apprenticeships Week.

The students also enjoyed a meet and greet session with breakfast DJs Neil and Tina.

Jason Sugden from Cornwall Apprenticeships said: ‘The standard of the commercials made by all the students at schools across Cornwall was very high and choosing one winner was tough.  Big congratulations to everyone involved at Penrice Academy – their win was fully deserved and we love the new commercial!”
