Pendennis Apprentices in National Finals

Three apprentices from Pendennis were finalists in two prestigious national awards this winter. Adam Hall, second year joinery apprentice, was a finalist in the ‘Cabinet Making’ category of the National Skills Awards. As one of only 10 young people in the UK shortlisted in this category, he performed exceptionally well at the National Skills Show narrowly missing out on a top three position.

Fourth Year Apprentices Sam Jones and Matt Angove were invited to the final interview stage for the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights Queen’s Silver Medal  .Over a dozen representatives from throughout the UK’s shipbuilding industry were shortlisted to attend the assessment course in Kielder Water, four of which were from Pendennis. After the course only four of these apprentices were invited for a final interview in London following which Matt was awarded second and Sam was placed third.

Congratulations to them all.
