One of the South West’s biggest names in hospitality, St. Austell Brewery, continue to value recruitment through Apprenticeships as essential to the future of their business, and recently embarked on a new partnership with Truro and Penwith College, offering 12 new Apprenticeship jobs with the support of the College’s Apprenticeship recruitment team. Adam Luck, Estate Director at St. Austell Brewery said: “People are at the heart of our business and through Apprenticeships we find enthusiastic and committed individuals to start their career here with a St. Austell Brewery Apprenticeship. Apprenticeships offer us long term recruitment solutions, the right individuals can progress to work in any of our sites, head office, or progress into a management role”.
St. Austell Brewery are one of Cornwall’s leading employers and employ nearly 1000 people. They have over 129 pubs, hotels and inns across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly with 40 more in Devon and Somerset. Looking to recruit some of Cornwall’s finest young talent, the brewery benefitted from the support of the Colleges Apprenticeship recruitment team, sourcing candidates from the pool of young talent, finding bright, hard-working individuals in front of house, reception, bar, waiting and customer service roles.
As part of ensuring the right candidates were selected, the College supported a recruitment day where St. Austell Brewery were able to pick from the young talent who applied, with successful candidates now beginning their careers with the company.
