The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) is the principal provider of acute care services in the county of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It serves a population of around 450,000 people, a figure often doubled by holidaymakers during the busiest times of the year. The Trust employs approximately 4,700 staff and has a turnover of approximately £300 million. We are the second largest employer in the Cornish economy.
Since 2009 we have been recruiting Apprentices into various roles across the organisation. This has become a very successful programme which is continuing to grow. We have 20 Apprentices and plan to recruit more in admin, pharmacy and IT.
We offer Intermediate Level 2 Apprentice roles in:
• Business Administration
• Information Technology- User
• Customer Services
• Clinical Healthcare Support
These are across the Trust in various departments, including Finance; Clinical Imaging, Human Resources, Estates and IT services.
We work closely with local Training Providers, Truro and Cornwall College, and the National Apprenticeship Service to ensure that the Apprenticeship pathway you are undertaking meets the job role.
Lydia Webster, won the National Apprenticeship Award Level 2, the ceremony was held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham in November 2013. We are extremely proud of Lydia and her achievements so far. Lydia is now progressing onto the Accountancy award Level 4.
